Your Keys to Success!

We are so excited you are using Video Checkout! Here are some tips to make the most of using our service.

Choosing the Right Video
Your video selection is vital to your success. The optimal length to capture and hold attention is 30-90 seconds. We don't recommend using longer video for a specific reason - attention spans are short.

You also want to use a video that showcases the product you are trying to sell or the cause you are raising money for. Depending on your business, this can be a commercial, how-to video, campaign speech, or promotional video.

Invest in quality. Your customers/donors expect quality. You will likely see returns on your investment as quality content is shared frequently.

Don't forget to also select a strong thumbnail image, as this is the first thing that potential viewers will see. Your thumbnail could determine whether or not someone clicks to play your video.

Choosing the Right Item Image
The image you upload for your item is what your customer will associate with your product or cause. Pick an image that compliments your brand.

Again, invest in quality. We automatically re-size the image but recommend using a square image to avoid distortion.

Posting Your Video
You can post and promote your video on Facebook and anywhere that you can embed code, such as a website or blog. You can also create a Bitly link (, and post a shortened link on other social media sites to drive traffic back to your video.

Here are a few tips for success when posting your video to Facebook:

  • Pin your post to the top of your Facebook page’s Timeline - This will prevent the post from being pushed to the bottom of your page. Here’s how to do that:
    • You'll need to be an admin or editor to pin Page posts. To pin a post to the top of your Page's Timeline:
      • Go to the post on your Page's Timeline
      • Click  in the top-right corner
      • Select “Pin to Top”
    • Your pinned post will move to the top of your Page's Timeline and  will appear on the post. Your pinned post will stay at the top of your Page's Timeline for 7 days. After that, it'll return to the date it was published on your Page's Timeline
  • Be strategic with the wording in your Facebook post - When posting the video, clearly state that a product can be purchased in the video below or a donation can be made. Are you giving a special deal through Facebook on your product? Great! Make sure you highlight that in your post. Here is an example:

  • Create additional videos. Keep your social media following engaged and create additional interactive videos! This is much more effective than posting the same video repeatedly, and gives you a chance to showcase multiple products
  • Ad Spend - Getting organic views on Facebook is great but not easy, and that is why they offer spend options. We highly recommend that you put some spend behind your posts and boost them to reach a wider audience
